Alarm Fault
« on: 22 August 2011, 14:04:28 »

Hello All,

Having a really annoying problem with my Omega at minute which hoping someone could help with.

When using the vehicle during day it fine, however, once not used for approx 3-6 hours the alarm goes off, only way of then stopping this from happening is to leave car unlocked.

I read on here about it possibly being the bonnet sensor so therefore disconnected the plug from this and as advised on thread I read connected the 2 pins together with a piece of solder. However within 30 minutes alarm went off again.

Now im not sure whether a piece of solder connecting the 2 points together would have done the trick and have realised that could be possible the wires to the connector itself could be no good.

I multi metered the battery when finished with car to see what charge was and was at 12.69.
Alarm went off during the nite and when multi metered in morning read 12.39 so think battery is holding charge and not causing a outage.

Any ideas of where to look next or is there a way I can deactivate the alarm altogether?

Many thanks

There is no need to short the wires, just unplugging is all that is required.

Do the hazzard lights flash with the alarm, or is it just a siren you hear?

Is this a saloon or estate?

where are you based, there maybe somone local who can read the alarm log with a diagnostic computer to identify the trigger
