Split pipe?

The rubber pipe that comes down to form a t shape is split 50% of its' length down, but it is a very clean break as if it is meant to be there. I think this is a brake servo vacuum pipe but not sure. can anyone advise what purpose this rubber sleeve holds and is it supposed to be half slit. It is located to the right of the brake resevoir and following it round it ends up on the rear right hand side of the plenum.

Also where can i get a replacement rubber replacement if it is needed?

Thanks Rob :y , i firstly will try to change just the rubber pipe connector as i couldn't see all of where the complete pipe feeds through.

Do you know what the pipe does and the diameter of it?
Would this split pipe have anything to do with coolant loss  (unexplained recent loss of about 250ml) or is it more brake  or breather related.

UPDATE: Found an old breather pipe, cut it to length and job done!

However i noticed by the top heater inhose going into the bulkhead there is a small pipe that goes into a rubber sleeve that looks like it disappears into the bulkhead too. I can see a bit of white where this pipe goes into the rubber connector and can't tell if it is loose. Does anyone know what this pipe is and i presume the heater hose has to come off to secure / check the small pipe properley?

Vacuum feed to the climate control panel IIRC. If your heating & cooling works OK and there isn't a hissing noise then it is probably still connected.

Thanks Andy, the cc works fine, but out of interest if this was loose would it drop coolant. (By heating and cooling i assume you mean climate control? as opposed to the engine getting warm quickly when stuck in traffic etc.. which i find it does compared to my old 2.2)
