Replacement wing/bumper or repair and respray.....
« on: 12 September 2011, 17:29:08 »

Hi guys,

i have had a quote from a nice chap daz put me in touch with to sort out my wheel arch bodge job. he's quoted £200 which is great and im more than likely going to go with that.

however someone suggested replacing the whole wing and bumper (as ive ballsed up a bit of filler on that too.

also another plus for replacing the wing and bumper is that the original problem was rust!

what do you reckon? can i get a wing and bumper in star silver and get it fitted for a good price do you reckon?

cheers  :y

Presumably you mean rear 3/4 panel not front wing?

guys, just in addition to the original query.....

by choosing the repair option will the rust definitely disapear or will it eventually come back as that whole area is ''diseased''?  :-/

cheers

Depends how good a job is done.  If its a quick bodge blow-over, then it will come back...

Depends how good the repair is, a bad repair will come back 6 -12 months, a good one should last a good few years, probably have other bits falling off by then.

Must type quicker, or was I beaten by a long bit of Twisted Pair!

ok thanks guys,

TB you're from my way..... i've had a quote of £200 from castle coach work. now ideally i'd take it to daz's mate but it's in stoke and i'm going to have to either stay or get a train back so we're talking a lot of extra cost that i'd prefer to spend on the car itself!!

have you heard anything about this company?

they're on the kings heath industrial estate  :)
