Does such a mod as these exist for the Omega??
« on: 03 February 2008, 23:49:07 »

Way back in 2006... when I had a Ford Scorpio... (given to me for free, had it 2 weeks, blew it up, sold it for £60)...  I joined up a treacherous site for some advice and such, and stumbled across these...

http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/hlmod.htm
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlock.htm

Basically wondering if this would be possible to do on the Omega??

The headlight mod I can see being not a major issue...  But as for automatically locking the doors at a set speed...  I'm not too sure if the Omega outputs a compatible frequency in regards to the output from the VSS??

Meh I'm probably talking out of my jacksie anyways... But wouldn't mind giving both of these a try!

I am /was? a member of this site when I bought a Scorpio Ultima 24 Valve 2.9 Cosworth, Nice Car, really nice noise !!!, pure muscle over 200 BHP with No Turbo. BUT full of electrical faults under the bonnet loom (Too much heat and Damp), wouldn't dream of touching the electrical system for fear of breaking it!!

As for fitting this mod's to a Meggy, haven't got a clue, but would have thought totally different electrics.

By the way I prefer my MV6 3.0 over the 2.9 Cosworth Ulitima (which is long gone) and my 2.0L 310BHP RWD Cossie Saphire come out in the Summer, even more fun.

As the Facelift (not sure about the pre-facelift) has a 'spped sensitive volume control' for the radio, it must have some sort of output that could be used in other ways, i would have thought therefore it is possible to lock the doors at speed.

Its done on black cabs in London, as soon as it moves doors lock, so must be fairly easy to set up.

sorry for the hi-jack, but the best mod i would like to do to my Omega is the boot release.

Its nice that the boot 'pops' with the remote, but what would be nice is if it fully opens like BMW's rather than just lift slightly.

Not sure how it can be achived  :-/

Unless some big springs at suck inside so when its initally popped it springs open!  ;D

.... but what would be nice is if it fully opens like BMW's  ......

do they all close on their own too though. Not that I've looked but the system on a 7 series looks to be far far more cmplicated than just stronger gas springs/struts.

Not bothered about auto close, opening fully on the pop would be nice... often have hands full carrying stuff, be nice if it opened all the way
