Pretty certain they all do.

switch on indictator on the side you wish parking light on BEFORE switching off ign

Without going out in the cold I don't think it makes a difference when you switch the indicator.
My 73 Cortina used to do this too, can't remember about my Cav coupe or Manta

Without going out in the cold I don't think it makes a difference when you switch the indicator.

Does make a difference, and iirc, you need to turn on ign and cancel indicator to switch off.

Page 15 in my manual says:

Starter Switch to OFF
Light Switch to OFF
Remove Key
Move Turn Signal Lever Up Or Down

Oh no it doesn't!  ;) I've just had a look, the respective side light will light when the indicator is moved while the keys are in my grubby paws.  :y

i forgot all about the park light so Ive just nipped out and tried it . No keys in the ignition, indicator stalk up a click, park light works but it wont turn off without the power being turned on

Yours is the same as Zippo's car.  :-?
The only difference in opperation between yours & mine is that I don't get the lights on buzzer
