Telemute lead
« on: 16 March 2008, 17:41:22 »

My little car is has the CCR 2006/ Bose  radio set up and I have a CARK 91 car kit --- I have looked at telemute leads to route the sound thru the stereo speakers and mute the radio when a all is in progress -- seems there are 1001 variants, priced from between £6 and £36 !!  :o

Any ideas what I should be getting and where to get it ????

Not sure on the telemute lead but I used an Autoleads one on mine. If you have Bose you need a lead with filters in-line to stop the sound distorting.

The Autolead Part No is 06-109B and I got mine from www.siocommunications.co.uk.

They also have a very helpful forum.

Depends if your car is 'prewired', if it is, from memory is a 102.  Look for 16(?) pin connector behind glovebox.

If it is, fit mic, aerial mandatory for cark91, and control unit. Mic obviously plugs in to nokia control unit, rest all plugs in the 102 lead.  Newer 102 leads have the newer nokia connector which needs a simple mod for older cark91 kit.

I must say, cark91 are for old phones, maybe a bluetooth ck 7w kit would be more suitable?

Many Thanks for the helpful advice -- the phone is a 6310 - yep, an oldie, but a goodie -- the last contract I had came with a Motorola Razr -- gave that to the wife with a PAYG sim and put my sim in my old Nokia -- shop thought I was mad ( maybe I am  ::) )

109B is basically a 102 with the filters needed for Bose. I think the distortion issues only occur on the facelift head units (ie the 4 figure ones)

Agreed, forgot to mention that, you can either buy the adaptor or modify the loom using your existing loom supplied with the carkit.

Nope. You're perfectly sane. Gave up on my last "Rotor mower" after a couple of weeks and went back to a 6310.
