Bulb not illuminating
« on: 31 July 2008, 13:40:42 »

Hi all

Got  a problem with the Air Con switch on my 98 TD

The symbol illumoinates when the side lights are on but the on/off light does not come on at all

Bought another switch and same problem - to rule out the chance of having bought a rubbish switch from flea-bay I opened the switch up and reversed the bulbs inside - it illuminated when the side lights came on - so it's not the bulbs.

Is it the connection behind the switch? Or the wiring behind the wiring control panel?

Many thanks

Do be aware that if there is a fault with the aircon setup (i.e.no gas) then the switch light will not come on.....which sounds like it may be the route cause.

A-HA!

There is a leak on the condenser manifold (which my local garages and even air-con specialists don't want to touch)

Thanks for the advice.
