Sunshine roof and auto control (1)
« on: 30 July 2008, 21:55:09 »

On CDX1 (M reg petrol CDX Estate 2.5 V6) the sunshine roof responds to teh change of control seting only by a small movement to open. (ISTR it is the slide direction).
I did have it "reprogrammed" by the local Vauxhall dealer, but it soon stopped operating as it should, and went back to the current operation.

I have seen the information how to reset the one-touch, but since this is not working (travelling in either direction) even without the one-touch, I don't think this is the only missing function. I have to use the manual override to wind the roof shut again when I've played with  this.
The movement is almost as if the over-current is being set.
Or perhaps the end-of-travel is being detected.

Oh, yes, the lights for the selector dial are intermittent; I don't know when they shouldbe on, but I'd guess when teh sidelights are on.  Should they also be on when the roof is operated without sidelights?  And where does the power for the lamps come from?

Any suggestions, please?

Does sunroof move if you press and hold button after selecting position?

It is when I hold the selector that the movement ocurs.
There is no movement if the selector is not pressed.

And you've already tried the full reset procedure for it?

The only reset I am aware of is in Resetting One Touch Window Function.
Since I don't have operation of the roof, I cannot easily drive the roof to the ends of travel to do the reset.
However, if this reset is the right thing to do, then I can manually wind the roof to each end of the travel and execute the appropriate reset (presumably to re-teach the roof where the end-of-travel positions are).

And I suppose that the intermittent light mean that the power/earth is dodgy, and so the reset values may be lost again unless I rectify that problem first? :'(

It does appear that you've a bad connection some where, the back light on the rotary switch is lit all the time the ignition is on.
Resetting the roof is simply pushing the switch in at the main roof postions of tilt, closed & fully open and holding it in untill all movement stops.
