Traffic Master
« on: 30 November 2008, 23:32:15 »

Just to give a bit of praise to the much maligned Traffic Master.

Travelled back tonight from Manchester and got the message on traffic master just coming off M56 onto link road over to J19 at Knutsford of stationery traffic J19 to 18 on M6 south. Most cars carried on to M6. We detoured via Mere and Holmes Chapel to join an almost completely empty M6 at 18. Delays were apparently 1 to 2 hours. I reckon the £30 or so possibly paid back in one evening?

Was also a good run to bed in the new 3.2 engine fitted recently. Glad it was not idling for ages.

Have to agree from using Trafficmaster for 10 Years, if it says 'severe delay' or 'stationary traffic' then take an alternate route because it will be right!

I also have to agree, those that are using TM are often singing its praises.

Nice report pscocoa - good to see some positive feedback once in a while on something that actually works.

Think I need to dig my TM box out and get it working then!  :)

Need to find my soldering iron first though!  ;)

I used to like my TM as TB says not perfect but much better than TMC which doesn't work at all...

I paid mine up and it is a godsend... It has saved me lots of time. The only downside is that, if left on auto mode (which is by far most sensible!) it can get a little annoying too ::) ::)

Mine will be in use in 30 minutes time or so. It is our wedding anniversary on Sunday so going for 2 city holiday - Manchester and Leeds!!! Yes I know how to treat the lady well.

Up on M4/M40/M6/M56/M62 back on M1 M40 etc. TM lady will have a hoarse voice after that lot.

TM did another good job today at J25/26 on M62 - later reports of big delays. Dived off at J25.

Woodlands Hotel Leeds is definitely recommended
