Air hose off the dual ramwould cause air leak which would cause a mis...as would any air leak so check hoses carefully, including the breather hoses...but if you have the spares and your able to do yourself then you lose nothing by swapping the MAF and dispack...so do it and see where you are then  

But do them one at a time so you know which is the cure if it fixes it

the bloke i bought the car off had just rebuilt the head ................ cam belt tentioner went on his way home after buying it and trashed the head ......... i have a bag of 24 bent valves to prove it !!!

could it be a loose pipe after the rebuild ??

But were there 24 valve guides to go with the bent valves? Valves usually take out the guides when they get bent .
