dash lighting
« on: 06 December 2009, 16:28:41 »

Today the dash light for the right side of my speedo and fuel gauge has gone out (2000 2.5 cdx SEDAN). Is this a fuse problem or a bulb problem, how do you change the dash bulb?? Thanks for the help

Yes, it will be a bulb problem that is easily sorted if you follow these guides:

The instruments have a flexible circuit board that plugs into a multi-pin connector behind the dash. Left and right side of the instruments go to separate pins on the connector. Last time I took my instruments out of my previous (1994) car only one side lit up when I had finished. Pulling it out and pushing it back in again got all of the lights working again.

My current car has the height adjustable steering wheel. Getting the instruments out is as easy as the instructions.

My previous car didn't have the height adjustable wheel and the instruments would not come out without taking the steering wheel off. Maybe something was different on the very early cars but there was no way those instruments were going to come out without breaking something.
