CCR 2006 - Replacement CD Unit / Parts Required
« on: 15 December 2009, 16:56:40 »

Sterling work from Dave at DND Services Ltd cannot mask the fact that my CCR 2006 CD unit needs replacing.

Having successfully got rid of the dreaded "CDC SAFE" error for me Dave has found that the laser power is so weak that it is struggling to actually detect if a disc is present or not, and then struggles to give any playback from the disc.

The reason for this is that the laser is now nearing (or even past) the end of its serviceable life. Genuine laser spares have long since dried up and I know nothing about the use of aftermarket spares. (Anyone know about these?)

Dave tells me that the unit shares the same CD chassis as many other Vauxhall models, such as CDC3 & CCRT2008.

Does anyone have a spare one of these chassis for sale or even a CCR 2006 one that I can use to swap out my one?

If it means anything to anyone, Dave also states that my unit is BOSE configured.

Any help or advice greatly received and again many thanks to Dave at DND Services for all his help and patience. :y

You can regularly find the cdr2006 on ebay or here on the forum but they are pricey.
I sold mine very cheaply and bought an aftermarket one.
Although you have Bose setup so if you buy an aftermarket one you will have to replace the speakers also

I have a NCDC 2013 which is cocked, just trying to find out if its the multi changer or the navi bit thats causing the problem.

If its the navi bit then sure we could do a deal on the multichanger bit

Kids (not mine), coins and slots don't mix, but as it came from friend of a friend not sure which slot was used, think it was the navi slot, so should be just able to remove the changer and try in another head unit

If only it were that simple ;)

What is wrong with it? Doesn't power up? Doesn't play cd/cdc?

Just emits high pitched squeal when pluged in.

I was under the impression the multichanger bit isn't coded just the 'top' bit.

However i do have the matching GID and plugs from the loom (both are from  half CAN Vectra C) so guess it could be played with on a bench

Was just going to swap the bottom half over and see what happens

CDC is most definately coded to the top half, and the screen, and the telematics (if applicable)

The only part of the CDC that is coded is the vertical board - If swapping over the CDC bottom half, make sure to keep the original vertical board with the right head unit
