Electric memory seats
« on: 25 February 2010, 16:05:36 »

Had a bit of decent weather today so tried to make some progress with installing front seats.
Passenger seat all wired up and working, although the bolts which hold the back of the seat to the floor dont seem long enough. Used the bolts from the old seats but it looks like the f/l seats need longer bolts ?
Wired up drivers seat (it has memory) and nothing worked. There is power going into the memory unit, there is power coming out of it to the switches, but there is no power coming from it too any of the motors**. Anyone got any ideas/ clues or is it simply a matter of the memory unit being furbared ??  :-/
Tia.

** correction - there seems to be power from the 3 small wires which come from each of  the 4 multi plugs to the motors, but no power in the 2 larger wires in each multi plug.

Did you follow the guide i put up somewhere?  You need to provide 12v to multiple wires, and 0v to multiple...

All sorted now. Thanks for all teh replies. Would particularily like to thank Dany who took the time and trouble to send me a wiring diagram. :y
When I checked my wiring closely I noticed that on one side of the seat connector a black wire which goes in one side comes out the other side as a brown wire. There is also a brown wire which comes out the other side as a black wire, I hadnt spotted this so wire them up the wrong way round. ::) :-[

I put full leather memory seats in my CDX last year and found invaluable info on this site on how to wire the driver's seat.   At the time The Boy posted the guide just as I posted my version of a "how to" for anyone trying to fathom out the wiring at a later date.

Like every thing it is easy if you know how but if not search the OOF site and someone will answer the query.

front memory seats are an arsehole unless car already pre wired for them. there is a wiring loom on the forum somewhere.
