windscreen washer level sender
« on: 24 April 2010, 17:27:57 »

Can someone tell me where abouts exactly this is on the washer bottle please?

If I take the fromt grill off, the pump is there right in front...easy access, I have tried to feel all round the bottle, but cant feel any wires for the sender.
According to the haynes, the front bumper has to be removed, is this the only way to get to it?
It's been reading as empty with the "check" light on for quite some time but this is the first opportunity I've had to have a quick look today.

Right...thanks guy's. I had a feel round the N/S of the bottle, I could feel something round that felt like it was stuck on it, but no wires!
Looks like bumper will have to come of to sort it. (unfortunately no 2 year old girl to fix it for me)  :)

On a slight side note, has anyone tried moving the sensor down a bit? i.e. fill the hole and make a new one? I only ask because it's really annoying that when the warning comes up, you can't get a full 5L container in, leaving you with about a litre left in the boot!

Bear in mind, mines the large bottle due to headlight washers

Capacities (approx. in litres)

Fluid container for windscreen wash system      3.0
with headlamp wash system                            6.4

Apparently the manual tells not the truth!
