I found it easier and quicker just to cut the connector off the variable stalk then solder/heatshrink existing 3-pin connector then make the connections with the Black/Yellow and Black/White wires. Took me about 10mins

Mine too. I think when the rain sensor came out they decided it was that or fixed intermittent. Wouldn't mind making mine variable actually. :y

I have a saloon stalk from a 2000 Elite. If you can tell me which relay, I have that too ;D

Ahh, now, I had that out and played with it, until I realised it was my wiper motor that was fubar. It's one of the relays in the box by the battery. Yellow one in front of the two purple ones (main engine relay and fuel pump relay) I think.

Is it the only yellow relay - seeing as all those that survived (I broke one on removal :o) are in a pile in the garage ;D

If you want them, they are yours - may even have the connector at stalk end.

(Jimbob - would have offered to you, but this is saloon one, thus no good for yours)

Wiper delay relay would work for an Estate surely? Stalk different, though, I guess.

If you haven't got a better home for them I'll take them and have a play. :y

I have 2 2001 2.6 cd's 1 has variable intermittant wipe 1 dosnt how can I tell if the 1 that hasnt has rain sensitive sensor.

When it rains your wipers will work by themselves ::)

Top centre of windscreen. For rain sensitive wipers there will be a sensor. Most late model Elite`s had it as standard. Lower specs was an option.

already a guide, but think its in Test section as I need to add later wiring spec...
