central locking
« on: 22 July 2010, 13:13:39 »

i have a puzzle.. the central locking using both fob and key in door will not lock front passenger door(manual lock only)  the fob only locks back doors but they open straight away... drivers and rear doors lock with key lock.. i have tried resetting key in position 2 and press lock for 2 seconds but nothing happens.  anyone any clues?? its got me.

Sounds like both front solonoids are failing, have a look in the parts for sale section for someone breaking a car to get a pair. If you need help changing them, just shout :y

The reason I say both front doors is that the rears are unlocking just after locking, this is normally a sign that the drivers door solonoid isn't registering a full lock sweep, as you say the drivers door doesn't lock on the remote. If you lock the drivers door with the key do the rears stay locked?

As I thought, when you lock on the remote the drivers door doesn't lock which makes the system think something is wrong so re-opens all the locks. This confirms you need both solonoids for the front :y
