Very sorry to ask something stupidly simple, but are you sure you dont have a black plastic box containing an amplifier slung underneath the rear parcel shelf?  :-/

nope, just a white one that when disconnected (ariel connection on the wire) stops the fm radio signal.

found the amp hidden behind the spare wheel its a philips w8y when dissconected no speakers work, it does have a lot of wires going into it. think its this thats possibly goosed ? anyone got one for sale ?
