the sensors need a main swicth to run, theye are activated by reverse light but controlated by the main, if the main doesnt work well they dont detect nothing.
all park sensor are controlated by specifically main swich, but i dont know where is it....
thanks  a lot

the control unit is wired directly, not via a switch, then as said is activated/controlled by the reverse lights. there is NO separate switch.  ;)

I think all he is asking is where is the parking sensor control unit located.

I have no experience of this on the Omega, but on Fords it's located in the rear 1/4 of the load area.

You can always follow the wires back from the sensors - that's a 100% certain way to find it.

Entwood is the man for this, but he's selfishly enjoying himeself in Austrailia  ;D, or Chris, but I think it located above the spare wheel well.  :-/

speaker failed on another elite i have here. I suppose the tell tale would be if the sensors tick audibly or to a light touch, but no tone is heard in the car then good chance the speaker has failed. But i diagnosed mine with an electricians meter which will show a varieing current at the speaker plug with reverse gear selected and ignition on. Engine does not need to be running.

Control unit, remove spare wheel for access, its on the outboard side of the vertical metal panel in the space between panel and rear wing, 2 screws are easy to get to.

Speaker wire has a black braided fabric cover, with a plug covered in foam wrap cable tied to the same metal panel, if faulty unplug it there then from the rear seat remove the c pillar cover on the spare wheel side of the car, you'll see the braided wire running up to the roof lining, unclip the roof lining enough to pull the speaker out, its just stuck to the roof in a lump of foam, exact location seems to varie, but just follow the wire.

If you need to remove it from the car to solder on another speaker then wire will pull through the rear seat bulk head, it will stick but a firm tug and the plug will pull through.

I dont think re fitting is possible in the same route, so i fed the cable back through a hole in the seat bulk head by the seat belt track, then feed the cable to the unit that way instead.

thank you  chrisgixer, you gaved me the quiz. ther is a trick to know if the sensors run well, with engine off and reverse gear on put your finger on the sensor, if they are ok you can feel a lower movement, a vibrate in each sensor. this is my case, the problem thats on the speaker. with the help of  chrisgixer i could find the "speaker", is so closed to the rear handle drivers side. ther is a kind of rope recovering the wires. I used a speaker of a house telefone put on the ear side. now all is ok and park sensors run again.
