Interior light fault
« on: 02 February 2011, 08:13:46 »

Unlocked car first thing this morning, interior lights came on, opened door puddle lights came on, got in car and shut door and puddle lights went off. Interior light still on at this point, key in ignition, started car and interior light stayed on. Now I assume I have a stuck relay somwhere, b ut where is it please ?
I took bulbs out on the drive, drove to work, with engine still running and not opened doors for 15 minutes reinserted the bulbs and they cam on straight away.

Car is 2003 2.6CDX

Thank You

I would think it would be a fault on the circuit board inside the interior light, these have a built in delay so the light stays on while you get your seatbelt on etc. Try to borrow another interior light to test it, (from a facelift.)   ::)

Thank you Agemo, it is true what they say, you learn something new every day. And I have just learnt something.

Whilst sat at work thinking about my problem, I have wondered if I am draining my battery. I have removed both bulbs but presumably something is 'stuck on'

Any thoughts appreciated.

Have you tried pulling/pushing the interior light switch a few times ?? It's the main light switch .... if you didn't know ... perhaps you've caught it with something and pulled it out inadvertently ??
