Elecrical issue, main beam, alt, power drain
« on: 24 February 2011, 14:05:06 »

Hi, just want to say thanks for a great forum, helped me alot with my Omega issues!
I stil have some issues with the electrical on board.
The ps is a long goner, but stil some issues left.
The main head light keeps staying on afther the ignition is turned off, I have to disconect the battery for reset. I have a finger on the relay , but cant find so much info about its whereabout.
And have no power to the lamps on the back right side.
Other suggestions would be warmly appreciated

The alternator indicator lamp dont work so I had to make a bypass with switch and lamp, now it carging like it should.
The autobox selector is now cleand and work like "new"

The Omega is a 1996 2.0 Station Wagon.

are you sure you are not leaving the parking light on.. have you tryed the switch for the lights, pull the unit out if the light stays on then there is a cross over some were from the light to the battery, if it gose out would see about getting a new switch as the relay is inside them for lights.

tryed the swith in every possible directions, the wierd thing its not the same thing happening everytime, but theres a pattern. sometimes the tail light on left side stayes on but not the head ligh aign or wise wersa. when i pull the knob out the cabing light ignite like it should. Right side stil dead eather way. And when I put it in parking, theres no lights in front but only left back.
So the power drain could be that its on parking light mode?
Im defently gona try to switch it or even diactivate it to mesaure the powerdrain today.
Thanks frecall for the heads up! ;D

the light control unit comes out, need flat head and prise out the unit from the gap were it fits in the hole, unit should come out with fog light controls. no power to light(s) should happen when this is out.

Thanks!
Finaly found a "new" unit. Bought a omega with lots of good stuff on it for nothing. Have lots of space here  ;)
The issues seems finaly gone. Thus only the driving and brake light on right back side dosent ignite.  Changed fuses, bulb an measured the rack unit and it all works fine.
