CDR 2006 won't eject
« on: 19 May 2011, 22:26:30 »

Someone Who Must Be Obscured has, bless her, put a non-CD in the CDR 2006 CD magazine, and it now refuses to eject.   >:(

I know something similar has been discussed recently but I think this is a little different – the other three CDs play fine so I don’t think the laser head can be involved.

Any bright ideas how I can get it out without resorting to club hammer and cold chisel and dismantling the whole head unit?

Thanks for the tip!

Although the magazine didn't eject itself after the two-button press, something clicked loudly inside and the unit became free enough to be pulled out (gently!) with pliers on the eject tab.

Turns out it wasn't a problem with the non-CD format.  The CD 1 slot was empty and two discs had been monstered into slot 2.  What a monkey!

Anyway, all working fine now so all's well that ends.

Cheers freecall :y
