sat nav head unit
« on: 23 June 2011, 13:21:36 »

anyone tried one of these in their mig?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HD-SCREEN-SINGLE-DIN-SAT-NAV-IPOD-CAR-DVD-PLAYER-/250831241293?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item3a66b5004d

Looks a bit like the double din unit elite pete has in his car, and which he seems very happy with, but this is a single din unit to fit my MV6, and I'm not sure how it would compare.

It's slightly above my budget, but I'd rather spend a little bit extra IF it's ok

I would strongly advise to steer very clear of this unbranded chinese imports.

Save your money until you can afford a recognised brand.

I'm with Dave DND on this one.  Some may have had success, but your chances of grief are considerably higher with these...

Any of these? Can you recommend a particular model which will do what the one above will?

Add pioneer, Blaupunkt, Panasonic and Clarion to that list

Happy hunting !!  (but you will need to increase the budget)

I've had a quick google, and the cheapest "known brand" equivalent to the ebay one is around £900.
 :o  :'(

no way on earth I'm going to be able to justify spending that sort of money...

Quality comes at a price

A second hand Omega is significantly better quality and longer lasting than a second hand Proton -

and you wisely chose the Omega for value for money -

Same rules apply to El-Cheapo shite Car Audio !!

You are having a giraffe :o

Sony make buy in the biggest load of horse crap ever made. Most of Sony's consumer stuff is quite poor, but their car audio is especially woefully shite.

Its 'Goodmans' quality at a higher price.  Actually, thats doing a disservice to Goodmans ;D
