I'm undecided yet James.
Initial plans are to tidy up the arches and get it looking decent.
It weights 2760 kg unladen and only has the 2.5 76ps engine...so some of the internal structure and doors will go to lighten it a bit...no need for a strong room and safe really.

Thats going to be light on its feet  :o
When I used to do a real job, I had a tranny with  the smallest 2.5 diesel (so, 76ps), and I popped it on a weighbridge one day, as I was sure it was overweight (was by 100kg), so 2.9t.  Still used to sit at 100mph all day, every day, on the M1 ::)

i think the old transit is a work horse...i was given a hiretop L.W.B transit...that would rattle a long at 95 mph..totally inpractical for work...but i now have V.W transporter....now that goes at an amazing rate of knotsand drives like a car..BUT dont think it will last as long as a transit :y

the last transit i had , was a 4x4 3.0 v6 .

back up when we lived in North Wales.....  and ran a PA hire company....

that was fun.....    ;D

there used to be rather a lot you could do to an essex lump.....    ;)  much more open to "suggestion" than the 2.8 lump....     a bit like the difference between the 3.0 and the 3.2 in the miggy....   squeezing extra grunt from a 3.0 is fairly straight forward....   but i've not seen anything really valid for a 3.2 ...

I can fully understand the urge to buy that tranny, 20+ years ago I bought an ex-diplomatic MK1 Granada on a whim. Toughened glass, armour plated body panels (supposedly bullet proof) and the inner rims that could still be driven on if shot out. (untested!)

I only had it for a couple of months because the petrol costs crucified me, I think I was getting 10mpg. Sold it on to a dealer I knew who was as curious as me about it :)
