I don't know - someone will be along soon who does.

But I do know that, if it's an auto, the 3.0 is too powerful for the standard 2.5 auto box and you would need to transplant the 3.0 box too.  Manual is OK, I believe.

Yes, and the diff ratio will be different too, although not by miles.

ISTR that a 3.0 will run OK on 2.5 engine management, and the electrics are all the same so you can keep the loom and all ancillaries on the engine.

Might be worth swapping the ECU over, though, in which case you'll need the ECU, immobiliser module and transponder ships from the keyfobs.

.. of course it also depends if you have a long or short plenum on both engines. Early 3.0s had short, later had long. 2.5s had short.

ISTR there's an incompatibility between the short and long plenum throttle pots too.

I'd go for a complete engine.with ecu and transponder either that or just get a 2.5 lol is there much power difference between the two????

A 3.0 should be ok, but the 3.2 and 2.6 units are DBW (Drive by wire) and have a different throttle setup - amongst other differences.

I fell for that one  ;)

Just swap the throttle bodies over  :y

3 ltr lump will run with no problems on a 2.5 ecu but will be down a little on power and torque.

If the new engine has a long nose plenum, its best to use a long accelerator cable ( the short one will fit but is a little tight )
If you have cruise, you will need the longer cable too  :y

You may have a bit of fun making the egr valve fit  ;)

I'd just swap the map chip over ::), else you may have configuration issues ::)
