done cam gaskets but

now it the mv6 is missfiring,engine light comes on,ive checked all connectors,was running fine when i started it up after doing cam gaskets,got petrol went home,went back out and started fine,pulled away at a junction and then the miss firing started,any ideas please as i was ment to be going away at the weekend  :'(

Had cam covers failed before? Had it been driven with oil in plugs? Its possible you've cooked the HT lead.

I'd do a paperclip/pedal test see which pot is miss-firing. Transfer HT leads, see if fault moves. If not could be DIS pack.

Did you use genuine gaskets?

as tunnie says  :y plus check all plug leads firmly home and egr plug hasnt come adrift, i done exactly the same thing put everything back together started hr up and had a misfire and emissions light was on  :( wondered what the hell i had done or what was wrong now  :o took me ages but eventually noticed egr plug hanging down side of engine  :-[

Got a fault code off 300 going to put old plugs back in and see if that makes a difference

Random miss, and it must be a DBW, so would give individual cylinder codes as well...

took both coil packs out and they are buggered :'(
need to source some cheap 1's if anybody knows where i can get them from  :y
