« on: 15 October 2011, 12:47:42 »

Hi Guys

Not been arround for a while due to personal problems.

Can anyone help! as the title suggests I can not remove my aux belt. I've tried using a 16mm spanner with extesion but it will not budge!!!

Any ideas please!

TIA

The nut for the tensioner is 15mm  ;)

Put spanner on nut in the middle of the tensioner (although I use a socket on a T bar) lever to the right (as you stand facing the front of the car).  The whole lot moves to the right slackening the belt in the process.  That's it  :y :y

15mm ring on tensioner bolt, turn clockwise to release tension, slip belt off, may have to undo one of the A/C pipe brackets to completely remove

Yippee!

Bought a longer extension bar and it came off easily?

Next question I need to remove the water pump so I have removed the metal cover, do I now need to remove the plastic cam belt cover or is there another route?

TIA
