F/L bumper skins onto a pre F/L saloon
« on: 14 October 2011, 22:25:27 »

As title, do the skins go straight on, or do the black metal bars have to be replaces as well?  Anything else that also has to be changed over (thinking wheel arch liners, etc)?

TIA  :y

Rear.........straight on.
Front........needs F/L rebar & polystyrene and IIRC you`ll have to trim the lower edge of the grille, will be a tight fit on headlights, FYI, F/L headlights will fit a MFL if the lower inner corner is rounded off along with the F/L underlight trims

not quite right rob the facelift polystyrene is slightly bigger on the facelift and you need the inner wheel arches as the facelift has different securing screws, well did on mine  :y

Don`t need the F/L polystyrene for the rear. I sold a F/L rear to a local member and it fitted straight on to his MFL without changing the arch liners ;)

Just a thought, and I might be wrong, but...

For the front end,  surely you might as well swap the bonnet as well rather than hacking the f/l bits to fit the p/f/l grill etc. :-\

it is easier to trim the bits as rob has said al. otherwise if you swap the bonnet you need to cut out the slam panel out of p/f/l (where the bonnet catch is) and weld in a f/l one. they are slightly different  :y
