starting problem
« on: 23 November 2011, 16:41:26 »

I had the cam cover gaskets done and since then it takes a few times for the starter motor to kick in.
Once it clicks it starts up with no problem.
Could it be when the covers were done some oil has got onto the starter motor and just needs a clean?

not starting at all now apart from the click. Battery is fine and starts on bump start. Looks like the starter motor is fubarred.
Will see if i can get it off tomorrow and clean it. Failing that looks like more unwanted expense  :-\

Before condemning the starter motor it would be worthwhile to check the condition of the crimped ends on the battery cables.
