Spent the last 5 years going up motorways and still looking good at 280,000 miles.
Shows regular cleaning and polishing works and never skimp on maintenance. Oil change every 10,000 miles.
The engine big end split in two at 278,000 miles but found a 60,000 mile engine with service history so should keep going for a while!

Thanks for the comments. Always been a Vauxhall fan. My omega is the longest I've ever owned a car.
Its a shame the Vauxhall Insignia Elite does not measure up to the Omega.
It may look modern and have a lot more power, but when driving long distance the Omega is much quieter and more comfortable  :)
You can do 8 hours driving almost straight and not really feel to bad, tried the same in the Insignia and could barely walk. :(

Company Insignia but still no match for the Omega!

Looks exactly the same as my DTi  :y

I guess there is a bit of life left in mine then as it's just crossed 145K.

Bodywork looks excellent, a real credit to you.

I can't take all the credit.
I could not hope for a better Vauxhall trained mechanic, my friend Darren.
He's looked after it all it's life and even know the previous owner.
He even know all the parts it's had over the years. It's quiet a famous car at the local dealer :)

The engine will die prematurely like this unless you change the oil at the recommended 5,000 miles.   ;) ;) ;D ;D

Nice looking car though - how did you keep the driver's seat leather so good?

Vauxhall recommend the engine oil on this engine is changes every 20,000 miles.
I think lesser makes might require every 5,000 like Land Rovers  ;)

The leather gets treated with Autoglym Leather Care Balm every 2 months and give it a good treatment if you got in wet  :y
I think it also helps that Over the miles I have not got in and out that much due to the long trips I have done.
