Steering column...?
« on: 13 December 2011, 16:32:04 »

Got a...(how to describe it)... A twang? Over bumps. Its like a resonance, as if twanging an elastic band when driving over bumps. Its always been there and changing suspension parts like bushes , wishbones, polly bushes, shocks and springs, drop links has had no inpact on it at all.

But today i held the steering wheel under tension, by twisting it in my hands to take out any play, and the twang stopped over bumps.

What parts could affect this? Any exploded views of the steering column, or bushes that might need changing...? I can find no play in the steering linkages. Some wheel baring play, but this has come and gone, as i nipped it up, then returned again, but made no differance to this issue.

The spring behind the wheel (with no number). Might be worth pulling the wheel off and checking each part for undue wear/damage/play :-\

Twas the week before Christmas... :y
