Where has the cable to temp. sender gone?
« on: 19 January 2012, 12:27:23 »

Hi,
I am assuming the sensor which has a little brass button on the top on the coolant bridge is the temp. sender, (V6) although my haynes manual identifies the sensor which comes out towards the back with a multi plug attached as the temp. sender. After a head gasket job, I can't get a temperature reading. The thing is I looked high and low for a single cable to fit the the sender that sticks up vertically but couldn't see it. Any reasons why it is difficult to find anyone?

Both are temp sensors, the single 'little brass button' is for your gauge, the multi plug is for the engine ECU.

The wire will be somewhere from the back, as you say, it's just finding it. If it's any help you're looking for a blue wire.  :y

Yes that should help, thanks. My other concern was that the engine ECU would be thinking that the engine is perpetually cold, which you have also cleared up.
