Dead locking
« on: 04 February 2012, 11:13:58 »

My passenger side door lock solenoid has been playing up for a few weeks and last night I made the mistake of dead locking the car. This morning I can't open the door and don't want to rip to door card off because its a cream one and hard to come by. Any suggestions?

TIA :y

You need a wire coat hanger and possibly a decent torch, put a small u shape on one end of the coathanger and push this end down between the glass and the door seal. You are trying to hook the rod which you should be able to just about see, use the torch if you need to. Hook this and try to pull it up. You could also try a decent pair of grips on door button and pull as hard as possible.

Then change the bloody solenoid motor ;D ;D

No Rog. Its my own fault because i've know the lock was faulty for a few weeks and not done anything about it but last night I forgot and pressed the blip twice and I knew as soon as i'd done it I was going to struggle getting it open :-[

I'm going to try that now Rob but suspect the button will pull of if I pull to hard.

Still got the rod to pull on. Button a lot easier to replace than doorcard :)
