Automatic gearbox in limp home mode.
« on: 06 February 2012, 02:16:02 »

Hi all.

Im having a problem with my 1995 Omega B 2,0 GL. Issue is as stated in the subject (My gearbox is in constant "limp home mode")

My digital display on the right side of the speedo is broken, so its only showing somewhat weird digits aswell (If it has anything to do with it, hehe)

All the indicators (1,2,3,D,R,N,P) + snow button is lit up, and when i press the snow or sport button nothing happends. The kickdown aint having function either.

So, if someone could point me in any direction of what the fault could be, it would be much appreciated.

PS: The gearbox oil is just refilled.

Thanks in advance  :)

Sounds like the selector is either broken or needs a good clean

As Entwood says, look at the "Range" switch, bolted to side of gearbox. Expensive new, try to find good 2nd hand one.

Thanks alot for the warm welcome : )

For some reason, it worked perfectly when i started the car this morning, and has been working good all day.
But i will take the advice, and clean my selector switch, as it is very dirty (Already been under there looking, hehe)

Cheers!
