VX parts cost
« on: 08 February 2012, 16:51:48 »

People knock VX for all sorts of reasons and as a volume car maker of course the chances of complaints are higher.

My wife has been having trouble with her wipers (on the Signum that is) in not returning to a park position parallel to the bonnet when in intermittent mode, which can be quite dangerous. There is a range of views on this from being a safety measure when it is iced up (bunkum I think) to water inside the motor which I think is favourite.

Anyhow brother in law is saying it cost him £400 on his Peugeot to change the motor so I was contemplating drawing on my Warranty Direct policy for repair. You could have knocked me down with a feather that with my trade club card the motor is £69 and to fit it is £26. This is pdg in my view - why bother with a scrapper? So just paid out from own pocket as £50 excess on Warranty Direct and some other discount because of car mileage would have made it marginal to have claimed.

Yeah, sometimes the prices are surprisingly pleasant.  Then again, I was charged £22 for a small plastic clip :o
