2000 2.2 cdx auto, oil running down from throtle body
« on: 11 February 2012, 23:52:37 »

Pretty much as above really, I have oil running down from the air intake pipe on the throttle body, I have removed the breathers and cleaned as suggested as I thought this may be causing blow by and throwing more oil vapour than usual into the intake.
all of the pipes did have thick BLACK gunge in them with the odd bit of beige creamyness, not white so I hope its not fresh.
There is a constant flow of vapour out of all the breathers on the cam cover at tickover and a definite vacuum to the little metal diaphragm (sp) to the front left of the engine.
It doesnt misfire, I cant see any blue smoke out of the exhaust and it hasnt overheated (yet).
I am now thinking piston rings or valve stem seals, however it seems powerful enough and cruises very well.
TBH I am stumped and I am considering just fitting an oil catch can but I would prefer fix the fault rather than find an alternative solution.
All help greatly appreciated. :y

Does the oil level ever drop? What are the colour of the plugs? :y

To be honest I haven't had it a week yet so I haven't had the time to pull the plugs or do many miles, that said, the amount of oil running down the inlet manifold is quite a lot so it must be. The water jacket isn't over pressurised and has no oily residue in it at all, even if I run my finger around the inside of the expansion bottle, there is no oil.
