It's only problem is the wheels are begining to rust out and I am having trouble finding replacements. They are old car wheels 13 inch but with a 4x114.3mm PCD or 4.5inch in old money, if anyone has 2 or 3 of these kicking about I would like to buy please.

Triumph 2000, Scimitar (IIRC) and early Japanese cars had that PCD & bolt pattern .. might be able to find some small steelies from one of those? Datsun Cherry, that kind of era..

Yes please if 13inch. Have been looking at jap ones and most I have found are 14inch. Not at all worried about tyres or a bit of surface rust. Just not rusted through like mine  :y Could do paypal if postable or collect and pay cash. Dad loves a run out to collect things for me (he is retired)

Sorry for going off subject again  :-[

Whoops, I meant you might be able to find some off a Cherry etc .. I don't have any I'm afraid. Poor choice of words on my part!

Come to think of it, I think anything with a 13" wheel is more likely to have been 4x100 (Micra K10 etc) :( Sorry about getting your hopes up like that!

Ahh, understood. Hopes raised and dashed, never mind I will keep looking  :y

I'm guessing they must have been off something old & British .. what you need is one of the members with an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things motoring. Where's 2woody when you need him? :)

Back to the topic - I'm glad I don't have to have my trailer (a little Erde 143) MOT'd, but by the same token I can see that it would probably be a good thing if I did have to, all the same.

Which reminds me to check all the bolts are still tight before I tow an engine up to Essex, since all I've done so far is put it together, stick the engine in it, and then leave it in the bushes in the back garden for a year  :-[

In Spain there is a dual system. Anything up to 450kg capacity, no need for additional registration or testing although it will need to be fit for purpose, like the small Erde trailer mentioned previously. Anything capable of carrying more weight has to be tested separately and have it's own reg plate as well as the towing vehicle reg plate.
As stated above the paperwork hoops you have to go through are much the same, this is the one thing that has stopped me from getting my twin axle box body matriculated. Tried everywhere for the manufacturers original paperwork but to no avail, so it just sits nearby as a portable shed at the moment (waste).

The last thing we need from those bloody Eurocrats is more bloody restrictive, money making, information gathering legislation. What's the point in making laws, we have statute and case law anyway. As always it's down to the person to make sure everything is legit. Laws are only obeyed by law abiding people. There's plenty idiots out there on the road who should be dealt with under existing laws before the state should look to gain more control over people.

I have a caravan and a trailer. Long live caravans! :y
