Picture the scene, me punter looking for an Omega, sees an add with a second hand dealer, goes to dealer, car not in yet, took in as px at Vx main dealer. Me thinking, get in first so go to Vx garage. Speak to salesman, has a look like all his christmasses have come together, but has to speak with sales manager, says sorry but no Omegas took in PX. Committed to second hand dealer....
Return to second hand dealer who complains that the boss had to buy the Omega as part of a job lot, not expecting someone to simply walk in wanting one.
Vx dealer kicking themselves cos they could have got more for the car, had I bought it from them direct, second hand dealer willing to drop the price for no px beyond what they would expect because the did not anticipate selling so quickly, as they said, no one wants Omegas because of the fuel consumption.............The best bit was when I said I have to 'walk' and the price dropped again......
