Its only 3 miles away from me!  :o

Further searching suggests 1998 R plate 535 examples go for 2.5k at dealer prices.

So i guess its about right!  :o :o

Very tempted to go take a look  :-/

Age , mileage ,engine size and the fact that threre are many E39's to choose from out there make it seem just about right to me.
Lovely car :y a years road tax would cost e1491 or £1181 over here in Ireland   :o
That's what happens when the Greens are in charge of transport...... :'(

Makes no differance here until a car gets to 30 years old . Click link then Motor tax rates on top left corner.

Remenber car is 10 years old, or very nearly. So ivery soon it will not be listed in Glass' guide the holy grail for car prices.
I would not risk nearly 2 grand on a common car like a bmw that is 10 years old with only part service history and no previous MOT's to back up mileage.

Just my useless opinion.

<splutter>  :o Wow! And we're moaning about our road tax...

Still, with it based on capacity there's got to be potential for running something with a small engine running a lot of boost pressure. [smiley=evil.gif]

back.

Went to view it and took it for a test drive.

Battery was flat cause it had not been run for a while they said, got it jump started, was suprisingly smooth and quiet considering not been run, sounded, VERY nice!

Bad points was i noticed the oil was jet back  :(

Inside, was very clean and tidy, no rips or marks, everthing worked.

Took it for a spin, have to the 3.5 V8 was super, super smooth... had a smooth idle, and drove well. I noticed the autobox changed down approaching roundabouts giving engine braking!  :o

The gearbox was very nice and smooth, loved the Sport mode, pop it in D, then push the stick to the left, and it becomes Tip_tronic, tap it up and down to change gear.

The mid below the rev counter switched to Manual and showed the gear selected.

Bad points where, no tax, little service history, jet black oil, back tyres barely legal (although had 12 months MOT).

Also noticed blipping the revs to say 3k, went it came back to idle noticed a little vibration.

Very smooth car for its age, and it had less road noise than the Omega in the cabin!!  :o

Tempted to research more into these  ::)
