breather is just at back of tank just off centre. think you going to need a new pump tank seal or the metal part of the top of the tank ie bit you screw down, may be badly pitted with rust. :-\

Mine leaked once, just after I had cleaned out the swirl pot. I hadn't got the rubber seal in quite right, I think you are in with a good chance of sealing it if you have another go, I know it's not easy though.  :-\

Right Agemo im gunna take your word for it and use some fuel up for abit then this weekend ill do it properly take fuel lines off give it a good clean up and try again, is it worth putting any sealant on the seal (sounds weird) when re-assembling

No sealant required, if you get it right you won't need sealant, & if you get it wrong, the best sealant in the world won't make it Diesel-tight. You need the right rubber seal, the petrol ones are as different size if memory serves.  ::)
