Morning everyone just a quick question for you all is there a specific way of bleeding the cooling system on the 2.5 V6. I have just completed replacing the cylinder head gaskets,water pump and Heater bypass valve and have also replaced the vacuum valve in the servo line and correctly replaced the vacuum system. But appear to still have an airlock in the system as it is not kicking out any hot air through the heater system. Also could anyone tell me what the pump under the passengerside front bumper on the facelift model is and could this cause or contribute to the problem as this is making a burbling noise. many thanks

Pump under the passenger sie is the air injection pump and pays no part at all in the cooling system, are all the one way valves on the air injection system ok coz the noise could be exhaust fumes!

As for bleeding the system, the method I use is to start from cold with the expansion cap removed and the heaters set on full. Then start the car and lett it warm up (blipping the throttle a few times) until the stat opens (right hand main coolant pipe will suddenly go hot) shortly after this replace the coolant cap.

Thats should then be job done.......

Off topic but, with the head change, Did you refit the timing belt using the correct setting kit?

used the valve timing tools to set up timing also got hold of a vauxhall college engine manual. engine running sweet as a nut.
