Blue or Green Injectors???

Im on with the plenum swap from 2.5 set up to the longer (and now heavily modified) 3.0ltr longer plenum set up. My question is am i right in thinking that the 3.0ltr has green injectors? I have blue ones currently but i'm sure ive seen green ones on the 3ltr!! With the port matching of the plenum and V bridge and modified throttle body im thinking as green injectors are a higher flow i might have to source a set!!

I can't see them making any difference. The ECU tells the injectors to fire based on information from other sensors including what the lambda is saying. So if you put bigger injectors in the ECU will fire them for a shorter duration to obtain the same results. You will have to change the parameters set in the ECU's programming to achieve any sort of performance gain. A downside of fitting the bigger injectors without the remap could be that the ECU may not be able to fire them for a short enough duration at low end speeds leading to a rich mixture at idle/low revs. This can cause other issues like cat damage and shocking MPG.

So in short changing the injectors while not altering the Map will have no or even worse performance gains than using the standard ones. We could start talking about duty cycle but I can't see that being a issue on a normally aspirated motor

IIRC 2.5 and 3.0 have identical injectors. They might be a different colour, but that doesn't mean the flow rate is any different. Check the bosch part number (0 280 155 xxx) and look these up.

They won't make any difference anyway, as said. ;)

OK cheers guys i'll build it up with the blue ones and see how the mods go that i've done to the plenums and inlet manifold. I've got the facilities to look at mapping at work so i'd already considered that may be an option after my next dyno depending what readings i get on the power curve and torque figure from these changes.
