How long do HT leads last?
« on: 04 April 2012, 11:44:56 »

I went to go to Alyesbury this morning and returned home shortly after nursing a miss fire! it went when i allowed things to cool down enough to investigate but came back when i played about with the leads connection onto the coil pack so hopefully its just leads, again....

I fitted these leads new in 2009 and they done 40k miles since then (along with coil pack) so im guessing as pattern parts thats about the mileage one could expect?

Or is it? lol

As a rule, the originals last the life of the car as long as they are not exposed to a long oil bath following cam cover failure.

Pattern parts as we know can be very variable on the quality!

Well a new set has been fitted and all seems well, again, lol

Strangely enough the problem with the old ones was at the coil pack end......
