Cruise fitting woes...
« on: 31 March 2012, 15:28:08 »

Hello all, I think I'll change my name to "Problem Child"  ;)
Anyway, today I WAS going to fit my cruise control but.... I started with the servo...
After I found where it goes, I removed the Aux Water Pump and put that out of the way (I'm guessing I need a different mount for the pump?)
I then fitted the servo to the inner wing, connected the harness and plugged in the cable to the servo, then I fitted the cable to the bracket on the Plenum Chamber, this is where things get wooly for me.... Is there a different bracket or cable or an adjustment to be made????

take the accerator cable off first ie unclip the clip from around the ball & then pul it off (can be a bugger to copme off though) fit the cruise cable on the shaft the accelerator cable has jus come from, then refit the accerator cable.  :y

Sorry, edit... The actual problem, which I forgot to write is that the inner CC cable doesn't reach the throttle lever... Sorry!

Two lengths of Bowden cable. One for short plenum, one for long

Is it just the inner that's different?

As Rob says the early 3.0 and the 2.5 have a shorter cable than the later long plenum 3.0

Yeah, it's all in except the kit I have is from an early 3.0, I am just waiting for the longer actuator cable.
