New computer
« on: 19 April 2012, 23:11:18 »

Its time I replaced my 9 year old Dell with something a bit quicker. I'm thinking of a touchscreen monitor, camera, 6GB Ram, Dual core chip. Perhaps 1tb hard drive. I would prefer to get one with just Windows 7 without all the so-called 'bloatware'. Up to about £550. Any advice?

Given the rest of the spec, Dual Core seems a little skimpy?

Don't think I'd ever want a touchscreen monitor, personally. :-\

Yes I would agree with that - the smudges would eventually do my crust in. ;D ;D

I suspect in about a year's time, that choice will be removed...

So what to make to get?

What do you actually want to do with the PC to start with?

Build it yourself! Dead easy and you can choose the components to suit. I'v just taken that route and I'm delighted with the result!  :y
