That was deep
« on: 03 May 2012, 22:36:07 »

Having to go to work via the little lanes, as the A5 was buggered yet again this morning - 3rd time in 2 weeks.  Cruising along, making good time (the lanes are a long way round), noticed what I thought was a big puddle (the fields are all flooded around there).  I expected a slight aquaplane, so I lifted off. I was right. Just underestimated how big, break me it was about 6" deep for about 50+ yrds.  Didn't half slow the car down. And my heart briefly ;D

Still, the bottom of the car should be clean...  ...except I had to come home via (a different set of) the lanes, where the farmers had dragged no end of crap off the fields onto the road. Slippery. So off with TC, had myself some slow speed fun. Looks like its been underneath a manure heap ;D

It'll have to stay like that until the hosepipe ban goes...  ...unless I'm brave enough to hit that big puddle at 70mph again ::)

Your timing is terrible. Or rather good depending on your point of view.

I took Mrs. KW's MX5 out past a load of stables, farms, etc. to "warm the oil up" last time I changed it. Regretted that when I got underneath. ::)
