Tinned Ackees?
« on: 01 May 2012, 19:33:21 »

I'm pretty adventurous food wise & know these are a favourite jamaican food but heard they can be dodgy. Usually served in rice with salted fish. I've looked at recipes, yahoo etc. but are any of you actually familiar with them & how to prepare them safely?

I've got a tin of them but not sure???? :-\

Not really heard of them, tbh...

But if tinned i would presume them safe to eat however you prepared them..... :-\

Thinking of Kidney beans in a packet and tinned ones......ie tinned ones safe to eat out the tin....packet ones poisonous until soaked and boiled.....  :y
