My 3lt mv6 drives perfect never over heats but when i turn the car off the water bottle pressurises water starts to come out of the bottle. if i start the car again i can screw the top off no problem. any ideas what this could be?

Air Blockage in Rad when i fitted a Customers Pre-facelift 98' 3.0 V6 Elite with New rad had exactly same problem try doing a coolent change on it and bleed it out (Im sure theres a easy way one of our lovely lads has come up with) and then you should be fine  :y :y

check that the electric coolant pump is fitted to the rear of the main radiator shroud and that it's still working. It is specifically there to prevent afterboil.

Are you taking the cap off, and it's boiling over?

Or it's coming out somewhere with no input from yourself?

If the former, I'd expect it to boil over, as it's a pressurised system.

Could be that the cap is getting weak and opening at too low a pressure, but otherwise my money is on the little electric pump, as 2woody says.

finally got round to looking at this. it is something to do with the electric pump. i take it this should have power when i swicth the car off. i checked no power. ran wires to the pump and it runs. would it be a relay or something not working. i checked all fuses and are ok.
