Belt tensioner indicator
« on: 14 June 2012, 10:49:28 »

...or at least I think it's called so. A video is pasted bellow, taken with phone - poor quality, but I hope you can see it in the middle. It's clicking all the time, moving up and down for 5mm....shouldn't it be still? I wouldn't like to see belt snapped, thanks Stan

Video works for me, but I'm not sure if that tensioner should be moving. Experts will be along in a minute to advise. :y

Can't see the video with my phone. But the cambelt tensioner is springloaded so put under tension when the belt is fitted then the centre nut torqued up to hold the tensioner in that exact place. When you turn the engine over by hand the little block with the tension mark in the centre will move so will move as the car is running too.
If that is what you mean then you should be fine, but without seeing the video or you explaining any better best I cam do at the moment.
