Citroen C5 Hdi
« on: 25 June 2012, 14:09:01 »

Hi guys, daughter has a C5 VTR 2.0 HDI, Citroen recommend 100k cambelt change. Research indicates possible water pump problems. Has anyone any experience of these. I think her car has about 50k at present. :y

Not had any experience with them, but they are properly good looking cars I think  :y

Its recommended to change water pump when fitting timing belt kit on the Hdi's.

it is due at 100k or 10 years whichever sooner :y

Yes thanks, that's what I've learned so far, just checking if anyone had any other advice. :y

I had one from new in Nov 2009 until Jan this year. Did 70k it it. A 2.0 Hdi VTR+ Nav.

Car was great - but be very careful - the warranty is 3 years OR 60,000 - whichever comes first!

I had probs with the sat nav that took the dealer many many visits to fix.

Also, the clutch would slip on occasion - which it did from about 30k onwards under certain conditions - and would then be fine again for weeks

Quite easy to do,although lots of "bits" to remove to gain access, you'll need an 8mm bolt welded to a length of sturdy wire for the crank lock and a drill bit or similar for the camshaft, fuel pump isn't timed :y

Thanks guys, she also has an intermittent fault when at motorway speeds, occasionally power drops off as if the turbo has dropped out. She has had a couple of garages (possibly not Citroen) check it with no success. It is booked in to a good Citroen dealer near to me who i know and trust, so I hope they will trace this fault. :-\ :-\ :-\
