If you bought one after a thread highlighting them for sale at said store, might be worth fitting a proper clip to the quick release coupling as mine has just blown of and smacked me in the face!

We had a 1" hose come off with around 20 bar of pressure (just below 300psi), because the whip check strap wasn't in place.
I stood & watched it as it whipped around with the steel twist fitting banging on everything in range. I though I ain't going near that until it stops on summat. We couldn't get near the shut off valve either

An open ended fire hose will do the same thing

Or, if you ask my Dad, a flexible hose in an oxygen store @ 20 bar. It'll also catch fire. Invisibly

.. or a mile long length of steel cable with an 8.2 litre V8 on one end and which, until very recently, had a glider on the other end pulling with about a tonne of force.

I bought one and was using it only today and thought about that .

The part which came adrift was the brass looking crimped joint on the end of the hose to the threaded union.
So regardless of the type of fitting put on the thread, the whole lot comes off leaving a flailing yellow pipe and a air gun in your hand with pcl fitting and thread.

I'm going to be using that hose a lot over the comming months so this is of concern .
I'm refurbishing 16 gymnasium machines and spraying the chassis structures so the pipe is being pulled and twisted continually .
I'll have to see if I can attache some kind of line between the two and inspect the pipe each time it's used.

I'd say the hose wasn't up to using an airgun anyway

But still not good.
